Meet Terri — In-Home Senior Care, Sun Prairie, WI
A 30+ year Sun Prairie resident bringing personalized, non-medical elder care and a familiar face to Dane County seniors — founder-led, family-owned, and an amazing team of caregivers for every visit. We help seniors in Sun Prairie, Madison, Waunakee, DeForest and Cottage Grove stay home.
My name is Terri, and I left a 30-year career in marketing and communications management to pursue eldercare full time. It was not a decision I made lightly, but it was one I could not ignore. After seeing the difference compassionate, consistent support made for my own aging relatives, I knew I wanted to bring that same kind of care to my own community.
I have been a Sun Prairie resident for more than 30 years. I am married, and my dog Olive — an Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix — often joins client visits as an informal therapy companion. She is usually the first one greeted at the door, and she has a way of turning an ordinary afternoon into a brighter one.
Outside of care visits, I love exercising, cooking, reading, music and traveling. Those interests often show up in the work I do, whether it is sharing a favorite recipe, talking about a book, or simply enjoying a sunny porch visit with a client.

Why we do this
Our mission is simple: to help seniors stay in the homes they love, surrounded by the memories, routines and dignity that make life feel like their own. We believe aging in place should not mean going without connection or reliable help. We are here to be the steady, friendly presence that makes independent living possible.
Our approach
Consistency is everything. When you choose Caring Companion, we try to ensure you get the same caregiver every visit. We have a small very close knit team, no call-center scheduling and no one-size-fits-all plan. We learn your routines, your preferences and your stories, then build flexible support around them. Our clients become like family, and we treat every home with the same care and respect we would want for our own homes.
Meet Olive
Olive is my Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix and an unofficial member of the Caring Companion team. She has a calm, friendly presence that many clients look forward to, and she helps turn routine visits into warm, welcoming moments.
Not every client wants a dog in the home, and that is perfectly okay. Olive only joins visits when it is welcome.
